Swim Bike Swim

My new routine will be swim 0.75 mile on Tuesday, Bike 10.0 miles on Wednesday, and Swim 1.0 mile on Thursday until I can run again.  Weekends will include a 15-20 mile bike ride as the weather allows.  The postings would be boring so as my running cohort dies down for the winter… I bid you farewell.

Short Session of the Runs

I ran 1.6 miles today just to get back into the swing of things.  I might run 2 miles later on this week, but I will stick to biking, swimming and elliptical-ling (?) for a few more weeks.

Biking to Best Buy

I haven’t posted in a while, but my week was busy with elliptical bliss one day and swimming another.  Today I road to Best Buy and back to pick up some SD memory.  The round trip was 15 miles.  It feels good to bike.

Simple Sunday Seven Mile Ride

This is nothing compared to Garry’s 20 mile run (which I am assuming he did today), but it is blog-worthy according to Garry.

Biking Isn’t Too Bad

Ok… If the one reader wants posts… then I will post.  You have to get moving too though!  I do not want to fall out of shape because I can’t run, so today I did a 16.5 mile bike ride and it really felt nice.  The weather is pretty nice for riding.

Stress Fracture… Check…

No marathon will be completed by me in the next few months according to my doctor.  Indeed I have a stress fracture and inflammation where the bone and ligament connect.  RICE… Rest… Ice… Compress… Elevate… I am going to sign off until I can run again.  My exercise will continue, but I am not worthy to post bike rides and elliptical exploits… they just don’t mean the same thing to me.

I Tried Running…

I tried running tonight with a short 2.0 mile run and it felt great, but my leg hurt.  Running down those roads was just like the good ole’ days, but rather than hurting myself, I decided to bike a quick 5.0 miles.  I might go to the doctor.

Riding Pace?

I think I am sort of slow and inconsistent on my bike.  My heart rate gets up, but when I time my rides they range from 15.5 mph to 16.5 mph.  Different routes have different elevations and I don’t really have a reference, but I don’t seem as worn out after biking as I did when I ran.  Tonight I rode about 12 miles and it was a fairly hilly route.

My tibia no longer hurts to the touch, but I still will not run until this coming Saturday.  Two weeks off will do it some good.
