Week of Running

I ran 4 miles 3 different times this week already and I plan on running another 4 this Saturday.  I will continue running 4 mile runs for the rest of the year and then start my training for the Riverbank Run in early January.  16 miles a week isn’t too bad – coupled with 1 or 2 days of swimming should keep me in decent shape.

Thanksgiving 5K

The weather was beautiful for the 5K on Thanksgiving.  My time was just shy of 23 minutes and I was in no hurry to finish the race.  This is the first time I have run 3 mile without stopping to give my leg a rest in several months.  Tomorrow I will run again.

Running is Good!

Today I ran 4 miles – I walked every 1.33 miles for two minutes to check for pain.  The chances are good that I will run the 5K this Thursday.  My whole stinking family is sick and there is a good chance I will be next – both my kids have coughed DIRECTLY in my face numerous times over this past week.  Let’s just hope my body has antibodies to these ”plagues”.

Pain No More?

This time of the year is my favorite time for running.  My leg feels better and I have been running about 3 times a week through the woods.  The cold, fresh air clears my head.  My runs have only been 3-4 miles, but they don’t cause pain.

Should we run the Thanksgiving morning 5 K at Calvin?
